【用途一】
主要用于制氟硅酸盐、四氟化硅，也用于电镀、木材防腐、酿造工业设备消毒、自来水添加剂等
【用途二】
用作分析试剂，也用于硅酸盐的合成
【用途三】
是制取氟硅酸钠、钾、铵、镁、铜、钡、铅和其他氟硅酸盐及四氟化硅的基本原料。用于金属电镀、木材防腐、啤酒消毒、酿造工业设备消毒(1％～2％H2SiF6)和铅的电解精制等。还用作媒染剂和金属表面处理剂。

氟硅酸制备

1.由湿法磷酸生产中释放出四氟化硅经水吸收制得。亦可由硅砂与氢氟酸反应制得或用硅砂、氟化钙和浓硫酸混合加热制得。

硅石粉酸解法在衬铅的酸解设备中先加入氢氟酸，然后逐渐加入硅石粉，使之反应。反应完成后，加入稻糠灰以中和游离的氢氟酸，同时起到漂白溶液的作用，过滤溶液，在滤出的清液中加入适量的黄丹粉(PbbO)以除去氢氟酸中带入的硫酸根，再经过滤，制得氟硅酸成品。其反应式如下：
