[体外研究]

辅酶Q9和辅酶Q10都具有同样的心脏保护作用,这可以通过它们改善左心室功能和减少心肌梗塞面积和心肌细胞凋亡的能力得到证实。 HPLC分析显示大部分CoQ9已转化为CoQ10 [1]。辅酶Q10和辅酶Q9是哺乳动物线粒体呼吸链的组成部分,可以调节一些线粒体蛋白质/功能。大豆,玉米和菜籽油是CoQ10的非常丰富的来源,而在玉米油中发现了高浓度的CoQ9 [2]。

[体内研究]

在纯合CoQ9突变体(CoQ9(X/X))小鼠中缺乏功能性CoQ9蛋白导致CoQ7蛋白的严重减少和广泛的CoQ缺乏和去甲氧基醌的积累。 CoQ缺乏会导致线粒体生物能量学表现的脑特异性损伤,呼吸控制率降低,ATP水平和ATP/ADP比率以及呼吸复合物I的特定损失。这些影响导致神经元死亡和脱髓鞘,伴有严重的空泡化和星形胶质细胞增生。在CoQ9(X/X)小鼠的大脑中,因此在3至6个月大的时候死亡[3]。
