Photochemical oxidation and autoxidation of some cycloalkanes promoted by ceric ammonium nitrate in acetonitrile

摘要

Our recent work has shown that the photolysis of cerium(IV) ammonium nitrate (CAN) in acetonitrile leads to the formation of NO; radicals (eq. 1) which efficiently pronote side- -chain substitution reactions of alkylaromatics under very mild conditions and with good 1,2 selectivity . When the photolysis is carried out in the presence of dioxygen autoxidation of alkylaromatics can be performed using catalytic amounts of CAN3. ... Ce(IV)N03 hv ___c Ce(II1) + NO' 3 (1)
