The mechanisms of the reactions of 4-alkyloxazolidinediones (1)(N-carboxy α-amino acid anhydrides (NCAs)) with α-amino acid benzyl ester p-toluenesulfonates (2) were investigated in acetonitrile containing triethylamine at low and room temperatures.
