To the best of our knowledge, an indium catalyst has never been employed with a source of hydride for the synthesis of cyclic ethers such as THF and THP substituted in the 3- or 4-position. However, during our investigation Sakai and co-workers described the reduction of carboxylic acids into alcohols by using an indium catalyst and TMDS.
