Abstract: Tris (trifluoroethy1) phosphite, bis (trifluoroethy1) phenylphosphonite, trifluoroethyl diphenylphosphinite, and triphenylphosphine all react with 2 mol of trifluoroethyl benzenesulfenate to give pentacoordinated phosphorus compounds in which two trifluoroethoxy groups have been added to the original tricoordinated phosphorus compound.
