An uniformed FeS1.4(Dmim)0.5 (Dmim = 1-n-butyl-2, 3-dimethylimidazolium cation) hybrid nanosheets was developed through an innovative combination-decomposition approach. More importantly, the obtained hybrid nanosheets performs with an unprecedentedly high electrocatalytic activity, which is a discovery for a novel, efficent Fe-based electocatalyst and expands the scope of new type electrolytic water oxidation.
