摘要

Abstract Very mild conditions have been found for the efficient regioselective addition of phenylthiol to ethynyl carbinols. A biphasic aqueous acid hydrolysis then leads to α, β- unsaturated aldehydes. The Meyer-Schuster rearrangement is thus brought about in two steps.
