Abstract: The syntheses of several precursors to 2, 6-dimethylenebicyclo [3.1. O] hex-3-ene (1 1) are described. Photochemical decomposition of 2, 6-dimethylene-4-(2-oxopropyl) bicyclo [3.1. O] hexane (17a), 4-(2-0~ 0-2-phenylethyl)-2, 6-dimethylene-bicyclo [3.1. O] hexane, 4-(benzoyloxy)-2, 6-dimethylenebicyclo [3.1.
