Abstract Several N-substituted ethylenediamine (en) Ni (II) derivatives containing ether linkages were prepared in order to study the effect of ligand structure on C-2 epimerization of aldohexoses. The reagent consisted of a Ni (II)-alkylenediamine derivative in methanol.
