Abstract A series of allyl-and β-methallyltin compounds have been prepared by the action of the olefinic Grignard reagent on the appropriate tin halide and their infrared spectra recorded. The compounds prepared include (C 2 H 5) 3 SnR;(nC 4 H 9) 3 SnR;(C 6 H 5) 2 SnR;(p-CH 3 C 6 H 4) 2 SnR;(C 2 H 5) 2 SnR 2;(nC 4 H 9) 2 SnR 2 (R= allyl);(C 2 H 5) 3 SnR;(nC 4 H 9) 3 SnR′;(C 6 H 5) 3 SnR′;(p-CH 3 C 6 H 4) 3 SnR′ and (nC 4 H 9) 2 ...
