Abstract: A series of substituted 9-fluorenyltriphenylphosphonium bromides (11) and another of 9-fluorenyltriphenylphosphonium bromides (IV) substituted on the phenyl group have been prepared and converted to the corresponding fluorenylidenephosphoranes.
