The relative reactivities of the four diisocyanates were semiquantitatively determined by following the reaction with a hindered alcohol,% ethylhexanol, in an infrared spectrophotometer using the technique of Bailey and co-~ orkers.~ Compounds I and I1 reacted quite rapidly and at almost exactly the same rates. In both cases the reaction was 50% completed in five minutes and was practically completed in thirty minutes. ...
