Abstract Reactions of 7-chloro-5-phenyl-1, 3-dihydro-1, 4-benzodiazepin-2-thione (XVIII) and its 5-(2-chlorophenyl) analogue XIX with hydrazines of methylthio-, ethylthio-, cyclohexylthio-, phenylthio-, 4-tolylthio-, 4-chlorophenylthio-, benzylthio-, S-(2- dimethylaminoethyl) thio-, 2-furfurylthio-and 3-pyridylmethylthioacetic acid in boiling butanol gave substance VII and the title compounds VIII-XVII.
