Abstract Nearly eighty substituted thiocarbanilides–viz., p-(2-thiazolyl)-, p-(4-thiazolyl)-and p- (5-thiazolyl)-p-alkoxy-thiocarbanilides, and pp′-bis (4-thiazolyl)-thiocarbanilides, along with a few thiazolyl thiocarbanilides having halogens on the phenyl ring containing the p′- alkoxy group, have been synthesized and studied for in vitro antitubercular activity.
