4-Alkoxy-2, 2-bis (trifluoromethyl) thietanes, 3 (R= Me and Et), were prepared by the reactions of 2, 2, 4, 4-tetrakis (trifluoromethyl)-1,-dithietane with alkyl vinyl ethers in a KF– DMF system. A bimolecular condensation product, bis [4, 4-bis (trifluoromethyl) thietan-2-yl] ether, 5, was obtained by the treatment of 3 with concentrated sulfuric acid.
