Highly preorganized bis-thiourea receptors based on a xanthene spacer selectively (H2PO4−> CH3COO−> Cl−) bind dihyrogenphosphate via multitopic hydrogen bonding, giving stronger complexes with H2PO4− neutral receptor known so far.
