The treatnient of epoxy ethers with secondary aniines has been shown to produce a-amino ketones in high yield. This present work reports illustrative reactions of epoxy ethers with primary amines, ethylenimine, ethanolamines, and ethylenediamine to denionstrate the utility of these reactions in the synthesis of diamines, morpholines, hydroxyniorpholines, and piperazines, respectively.
