Abstract Diether-phosphonate analogs of phosphatidic acids of the type ROCH 2-CH (OR′) CH 2 P (O)(OH) 2 (R [DOUBLE BOND] C 2 H 5, R′[DOUBLE BOND] CH 3; R [DOUBLE BOND] C 18 H 37, R′[DOUBLE BOND] C 16 H 33; R [DOUBLE BOND] C 18 H 37, R′[DOUBLE BOND] CH 3) have been prepared by reaction of the corresponding iodides with triethyl phosphite, followed by hydrolysis.
