The chlorosulfolipids are an intriguing family of natural products initially isolated in 1969.[1] They originate from the phylogenetic class Chrysophyceae that includes golden algae. These structures are fascinating from a variety of perspectives and raise questions of relevance in chemistry, biology, toxicology, and pharmacology.
