The preparation of a series of bridgehead substituted bicyclo [2.1. l] hexane derivatives is described. The basicity constant of the amine, the acid dissociation constant of the carboxylic acid, and the dipole moment of the chloride have been obtained and have been compared with compounds having less bond angle distortion.
