The experimental set-up for following the reactions: spectrophoto- metrically - at 588 nm in the case of liquid ammonia as solvent - or with the pH-stat method - in water as solvent -, has already been de~cribed~.~.' 7.1 *. The control and determination of pH was effected with a Mettler DK IOjll pH-stat using an EIL all purpose glass electrode and an Electrofact R111 calomel reference electrode.
