摘要

L previously reported by two Hoffman-La Roche group^.^,^ This protected aldehyde has been used in several total syntheses4 and holds potential for being a useful chiral starting material for other synthetic target^.^ Herein is reported a practical synthesis of both (+)-and (- )-l; the absolute configurations of which have been unambiguously confirmed by X-ray crystallographic analysis of a camphanyl ester derivative.
