Abstract Various mono-substituted diethyl arylphosphonates were prepared in good yield by treatment of aryl bromides or iodides with triethyl phosphite in the presence of NiCl2 or alternatively, addition of the aryl grignard reagent to diethyl phosphorochloridate.
