1, 3-Dlaryl-2-propen-l-ones react wlth urea to give 4, 6-dlaryl-3, 4-dihydropyrlmidinones (IVa- g) that can be further oxldlzed to the corresponding dehydro analogues (Va-f). The latter compounds are also obtained via lnteractlon of aroylphenylacetylenes with urea. Spectral data, supporting the suggested structures IV and V, are presented.
