摘要

The compounds 1, 2, 4-6, and 16-18, with two carbon atoms in the alkyl chain, were prepared by the Gray procedure. 22 Treatment of indoles with 4-vinylpyridine in acetic acid (method C) gave 3-(4-pyridylethyl) indole derivatives 25-34 (Table 11). The desired products were obtained by catalytic hydrogenation of these pyridyl derivatives in acetic acid (method D).
