The chlorination of unsymmetrical aliphatic sulfides by N-chlorosuccinimide (NCS) in carbon tetrachloride has been investigated. The resulting mixtures of a-chloro sulfides have been analyzed using nmr spectrometry. The reaction of benzyl t-butyl sulfide and benzyl p- ...
