摘要

The reported synthesis of the parent 2-azabicyclo [2.1. 1]-hexane ring system 1, unsubstituted on the ring carbons, is based upon the final ring closure of 1-(N-alkylamino)-3- (chloromethyl) cyclobutanes 2 and requires 10 overall synthetic steps. 1 We desired a more convenient route, which might offer further synthetic opportunities, to prepare this small strained heterocyclic ring system.
