Method X 174 trans-(2-Triethylsilyl) vinyl] estradiol (52) and 174 (1-Triethylsilyl) vinyl] estradiol (54). To a solution of 8.5 g of EE in 150 mL of diglyme in a stainless steel bomb were added 0.2 g of 5% Pt/C and 4.56 mL of triethylsilane.
