In attempting to prepare 1, 4-bis-(dially1amino)-butane and l, b-bis-(dially1amino)-pentane by reaction of the 1, 4-and 1, 5-dihalo-and di-(arylsu1fonoxy)-alkanes with diallylamine, neither of the desired products was obtained.
