Relative basicity of the oxygen in some trialkoxysilanes XSi (ORh having X electrondonating and electronwithdrawing substituents and R methyl and ethyl group was measured from the IR spectra of hydrogen bonds of phenol interacting with the trialkoxysilanes in CCI4.
