摘要

The ketone was prepared from the acid chloride by treatment of the latter with a solution of methylmagnesium chloride. The rate of this reaction is remarkably slow. Four hours of heating of the reaction mixture left the acid chloride largely unchanged, and it was necessary to heat for twenty-four hours in order to obtain the ketone.
