摘要

1-Carboxybenzo [c] phenanthrene has been synthesized by carbonation of the Corresponding lithium derivative prcpared from 1-bromobenao [clphenanthrene by treatment with butyllithium. The other five carboxybenzo [c] phenanthrcnes have been prepared by oxidation of the corresponding methyl groups by heating with aqueous sodium dichromate at 250'.
