Summary Diethylamine and formaldehyde have been condensed with phenol and with 0-, m- and p-cresol; 2-diethylaminomethylphenol, 6-diethylaminomethyl-2-methylphenol, 2-or 6- diethylaminomethyl-3-methylphenol and 2-diethylaminomethyl-4-methylphenol, respectively, were formed.
