I1 thesized by other investigator^^-^ by heating compounds such as N-(P-chloroethy1)- piperidine. The quaternary compounds were screened for hypotensive activity in The Wm. S. Merrell Company research laboratories. They were administered intravenously to anesthetized dogs or cats and the blood pressure recorded from the femoral artery was used as the measure of activity.
