A psychotropic IMIPRAMINE derivative that acts as a tricyclic antidepressant and possesses few anticholinergic properties. It is metabolized to DESIPRAMINE. Lofepramine is a third generation tricyclic antidepressant utilized throughout Europe and Japan for the treatment of major depression.
