Ethylhexyl Triazone, often referred to as Uvinul T 150 or UVT-150, is a high-efficiency UVB filter with extremely high absorption rate. Due to its very high absorbency, only small concentrations are needed in cosmetic sunscreen formulations to achieve high SPF values. The polar nature of ethylhexyl triazone gives it a good affinity for the keratin in the skin, making formulas based on it particularly water-resistant, this property is further enhanced by its completely water-insoluble nature. Among currently available UVB absorbers, ethylhexyl triazone has the highest photostable absorbance and the best efficiency even at the lowest concentrations. Its excellent purity can be obtained through a unique production process, its odorless and colorless properties make it more suitable for fragrance-free formulations. |
