Thromboxane A2 activates the thromboxane-prostanoid (TP) receptors. Thromboxane A2 is a potent vasoconstrictor eicosanoid. Thromboxane A2 (TXA2) leads to potent vasoconstriction by stimulation of smooth muscle cells.
