Manganese carbonate, also known as manganous carbonate, is an inorganic compound, a carbonate of divalent manganese, with the chemical formula MnCO3. Soluble in dilute acid, insoluble in water and ethanol. Manganese carbonate is a raw material for manufacturing soft magnetic ferrite for telecommunications equipment, synthesizing manganese dioxide, and manufacturing other manganese salts. Used as a catalyst for desulfurization, a pigment for porcelain glazes, coatings, and varnishes. Also used as fertilizer and feed additive. Used in medicine, welding electrode accessories, etc., as a raw material for producing electrolytic manganese metal. Almost insoluble in water, slightly soluble in water containing carbon dioxide (i.e. carbonic acid), insoluble in alcohols and liquid ammonia. chemical property Dissolve in dilute inorganic acids and slightly soluble in ordinary organic acids. Stable in dry air. When wet, it is prone to oxidation, forming manganese trioxide which gradually turns brown black. When heated, it decomposes and releases carbon dioxide. Hydrolysis occurs when boiling with water. Manganese hydroxide is generated in boiling potassium hydroxide. Packaging, storage and transportation Packaged in wooden barrels lined with polyethylene plastic bags, with a net weight of 50kg per barrel. It should be stored in a cool, ventilated, and dry warehouse. It should be protected from moisture, heat, and deterioration. During transportation, it should be protected from rain and sun exposure. Handle with care during loading and unloading to prevent packaging damage. When a fire breaks out, water, sand, and fire extinguishers can be used to extinguish it. Product Usage
