Gamma-linolenic acid, GLA, 18:3n-6 是一种 omega-6 (n-6),18 碳 (18C-) 多不饱和脂肪酸 (PUFA),是从人乳和几种植物种子油中提取的。 γ-亚麻酸补充剂可以恢复所需的 PUFA 并减轻疾病。

γ-亚麻酸是人体必需的一种高级不饱和脂肪酸之一，在人体内它由亚油酸转化而来。从月见草的种子油中被发现。现逐渐转向从微生物发酵法获得，如从被孢霉属中的Mortierlla isabellina，M. vinacea，M. ramanniana等菌株尤其用美丽技霉菌株，得率较高。不论提取法或发酵法目前均可采用冷冻结晶法、尿素包合法、硝酸银柱层析等工艺分离纯化。GLA是人体内前列腺素等的前体物质，也是细胞生物膜的构建成分之一。
