Abstract: Mono-and dithio-1, 2-semidiones have been prepared. The dithiosemidiones have lower uDIH and higher g values than the semidiones. The dithiete, 1, 4-dithiin, and 2, 3- dihydro-l, 4-dithiin radical cations derived from bicyclo [2.2. l] hept-2-ene-2, 3-dithiol have been prepared and demonstrated to possess a strong W-plan interaction with the'Janti-and 5, 6,,-hydrogen atoms as expected for a symmetric SOMO.
