Abstract

Summary 1. In ethyl alcohol solution diphenyldiazomethane reacts with ethyl alcohol in the presence of an acid catalyst to form ethyl benzhydryl ether. Kinetic studies by a spectrophotometric method have established that this reaction is subject to general acid catalysis.
