Abstract: Oxidation of bis [2-(N-isopropylcarbamoyl) phenyl] sulfide (6) with tert-butyl hypochlorite gives monocyclic chloroazasulfurane 7. Treatment of 7 with potassium hydride affords spirodiaryldiamidosulfurane 4, the first example of a sulfurane with two apical nitrogen ligands. The crystal structure of 4 reveals slightly distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry about sulfur. The CSC angle is 104.8 (2)'. The SN bond lengths, 1.899 (3) and ...
