Abstract

A series of enaminone esters and amides have been developed as potent allosteric modulators of γ-aminobutyric acidA (GABAA) receptors. The compounds bind to a novel modulatory site that is independent of the benzodiazepine (BZ), isosteric GABA, and neuroactive steroid binding sites.
