Abstract

Naphthy1carbamate.-Four grams of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6-0-pentamethyl-(levo)-sorbitol was added to 3.5 g. of a-naphthyl isocyanate, shaken well and allowed to stand overnight. The general procedure used was that described by Bickel and French.''Crystals of the by-product, di-a- naphthyl urea, separated and the reaction solution set to a semisolid inass.
