Abstract

The reduction of tertiary amides by lithium di-and triethoxyaluminohydrides, conveniently synthesized in situ by the reaction of ethyl alcohol with lithium aluminum hydride, was explored as a useful synthetic route from the carboxylic acid to the corresponding aldehyde.
