Abstract: A new phase transfer catalyst, 3, 5-bis [(2-methyl-naphthylene-1-yl)-phenylamino- phenyl]-butyl-(2methoxy-naphthalene-1-yl)-phenylammonium bromide (BPBPB) has been synthesized, characterized using spectral analysis and its catalytic activity ascertained.
