Abstract

Abstract The addition of small amounts of methanol to photooxidation mixtures of sulfides dramatically enhances sulfone in preference to sulfoxide formation. High concentrations of methanol on the other hand have the opposite effect of promoting sulfoxide in preference to sulfone formation.
