Abstract

Results The flash vacuum pyrolysis (FVP) of (5-tert-butyl-2-methyl-3-fury1) methyl benzoate (4c) at 550-560" C and ca. Torr produced a white product band in the cold trap which was cooled to-196 0C. 7 A 1: l mixture of CS2 and CDCl3 was added to the trap, and the product mixture was allowed to warm to-78" C. The IH NMR spectrum of the product mixture recorded at-60" C
