Abstract

The 1980s witnessed the synthesis, biologic evaluation, and clinical applications of an entirely new class of steroid antagonists [1]. Spearheaded by Roussel–Uclaf, a wide variety of 11β-substituted analogs of 19-nortestosterone were explored as antiprogestational agents [2].
